JULIE LAWRY
THE STAND (2020)
— BASICS —
— FIRST IMPRESSIONS —
APPEARANCE Slight but carries herself with power. 5'3". Chest-length, bubblegum pink hair that grows that way now. Her makeup has a lot of glitter in it.
CLOTHING Free Cities designer duds all the way. Many of her clothes come from either Aquila or Libertas for more color and fun details, as well as being slightly more risqué
. In the Horizon, she prefers flashy, high-end clothing. Fur trims, high heels. Lots of sequins, lots of sparkle. Loves accessories.
DEMEANOR Julie is incredibly good at playing whatever part she thinks will benefit her most. She plays coquettish and witty for men, weepy and frail for motherly types, mean to those she perceives as below her. Her truest form is sharp-tongued and bubbly, if temperamental.
AURAL She always makes herself heard, and rarely holds her tongue. You're hearing a syrupy southern accent.
OLFACTORY Sugary sweet, with hints of vanilla, raspberry, jasmine, and just the tiniest whisper of sandalwood.
— SKILLS —
SKILL Wild magic: Julie is an expert in the art of Wild magic, which is based on emotional connection to the Singularity's magic. It does not require spoken spells, and is dependent on mentally manipulating the energy into the desired result. She lived in Nott for six months to begin her education and only left once she had a solid base, then continued to train herself for two years out of brute persistence and repetition.
SKILL She has the ability to talk to the Singularity, and can draw more heavily from it (and the Horizon) than others. As of the cult kidnapping, her direct line of communication is always open, meaning that she does not need to be in the Horizon or anywhere near the Singularity to be able to internally "hear" it. The Singularity communicates with her via shared emotional impulses that she interprets.
SKILL Elemental control - specialized in storms (thunder, lightning, wind) and fire (as a weapon and also as a creative tool)
SKILL Knows how to make portal stones (of questionable integrity). Has opened a portal from the Singularity's no man's land into the Free Cities' borders of the badlands.
SKILL can ride a horse
SKILL master manipulator
SKILL can win a fistfight against other small women
SKILL can run down forty-two flights of stairs in heels

— GAINS —
- Horizon gain: Ghost Touch - the ability to touch any person or object without physical movement, from up to fifty feet away. Essentially an invisible third hand, capable of doing anything one of her single normal hands can do.
- Event gain: Snake - when angry or frightened, she can spawn a snake as a defense. The snake is capable of striking, though its venom currently only causes temporary paralysis. The bite will still hurt, though. If she is placated before it strikes, it will instead transform and burst into a cloud of butterflies.
- Event gain: All of her hair now grows naturally bubblegum pink. All of it.
- Event gain: Glitter blood. Her blood is still red, but appears to contain a lot of glitter.
- Event gain: Fangs. Julie now has fangs in place of her top first premolars. These are permanent. They are most akin to snake fangs, and are capable of injecting venom (which means she has venom sacs in her face now). The venom is a yellowish fluid, also filled with glitter, that currently is capable of creating a painful rash-style reaction that, if left untreated, will eventually begin to necrotize.
